The Arcata And Eureka ProjectsMy goal in photographing the business districts of Arcata and Eureka is to document and share the beauty and style of the structures that I find visually appealing. I think that the sister cities by Humboldt Bay offer many of the similar and complementary features that human sisters can exhibit. |

| I am drawn to photograph in the early morning when the cities are still in a slumber, and as they are being washed with morning light. Sometimes, if I am aware, and in the flow, the storefronts reveal some magic in their windows. | |

| I started this project in 2009 with some images of the defunct railroad in Eureka, and commenced the Arcata part in 2010. These became the product of a walking meditation, and to me they start to express a description of the unknown that may only be reached in deep meditations. | |
